With my little Amharic skills, I will try and let you know what some of the things are that we are using. Amharic is the national language of Ethiopia, there are over 80 languages spoken in Ethiopia. I hope that my pronunciation is correct if not I am sure many of you will let me know.
EGGS – (pronounced) – EN KOO LA
ONION – (pronounced) – SHIN/KORT
GARLIC – (pronounced) – NECH SHIN/KORT
OIL – (pronounced) – ZEIT
TOMATO – (pronounced) – TIMATIM
FRESH CHILLI – (pronounced) – KAR/RIA
ETHIOPIAN BUTTER – (pronounced) – KIBE
SALT – (pronounced) – CHOW
MEAT – SEGA
POTATO – DINICH
LEMON – LOMI
FASOLIYA – GREEN BEANS
2 cup cooked yellow split peas
2 cups tomato
1 cup onion
fresh chili to taste
