I use protein shakes when I’m building muscle regardless of what diet I’m on. However on a vegan diet I believe it is a must!
Vegan foods have less protein naturally in comparison to animal foods. Also, there may less complete proteins in a vegan foods. This is why I believe protein shakes are needed in order to successfully build adequate lean muscle.
